Louise
Louise worked as a Community Occupational Therapist in Central London for 15 years, before moving with her family to Sydney in 2004.
Since then Louise has used the mixed media of resin, clay, wax and concrete to create.
As a volunteer working for Blind Citizens NSW, she organised outings and group work.
Designing and selling decorations for charity, Louise then moved on to creating and installing large festive decorations for service providers including the Emergency Department of a large city hospital, and a homeless men’s shelter, to uplift the spirits of residents, patients and visitors.
After attending a glass course with a brilliant teacher and mentor in Melbourne, Louise has deep dived into the techniques of glass kiln work – fusing and molding.
“I love the alchemy of glass and the magic that sand, lime and soda can create when heated. Pieces of colour, depth, light and texture, the scope is endless. It’s a bit scary, too. Our shop has pieces already created in many forms and colours. I would also be really happy to work on commissions to create a unique and relevant piece for you to give to that special someone.”
The name of our website is Twice Gifted Glass, meaning that any piece you purchase or commission from us, 100% of all proceeds will go to charity. So give a gift, then we can too.
